Hungarian

„There are no boundaries for music”- we often say and hear this sentence. Its truth was reinforced for the andience of the concert given by the Voice Pure choir of the Renaissance School from California (conducted by Jutka Kádas, accompanied by I Fei Chen) and the choir of Kecskemét Reformed Primary Scholl (conducted by Emőke Jámbor-Márkus, accompanied by Éva Gál-Danics) in the Main Hall of Kecskemét Reformed New College. The carefully selected programmes of both choirs performed professionally and the guests singing several folk song adaptations in Hungarian united the youth of the two nations making this concert- which was to commemorate Zoltán Kodály’s anniversary-an unforgettable experience. The aims and everyday practices of both schools are to maintain Kodály’s cultural heritage and follow his methods in practice.

The relationship of the two institutions is going to be continued – as we hope – in California. The choir of Kecskemét Reformed Primary School led by Emőke Jámbor-Márkus is preparing for that.
